first ride of the year ( NOT to work and back)

so we went for a ride today. about 2 hours. not too many pictures, but we did do a ferry ride too. pretty much the only time we stopped other than for gas.

first three are what i could see from my bike on the ferry

fourth is facing forward and a near full moon

my hubby and his klr parked in front of me.

this ferry is from fort langley to albion(maple ridge) across the Fraser River. i think the ferries leave at 15 minute intervals, just to give you an idea how long the crossing was! i put the kickstand down for security, but didn't get off or use the k-stand. it is kind of cool, bikes get on every time. maybe not first but we don't wait. they are building another bridge at 192 st. so i think the plan is to take the ferry out of service in a couple years :(

It's so good to see people finally getting out and riding again!! Thank you for showing us your pics! I hope to get out and ride at some point this week, but it's not looking too promising. I may just have to look at everyone else's pictures and dream!!

What Mountain are we seeing from the Ferry? Could you tell us more about the roads you traveled on. Did you stay close to the river or go up into the mountains?

That will be sad :( day if ( or when ) the do away with the ferry.

i am not sure exactly which ones they are. (there's a lot out here!) we took harris road to bradner road, then mctavish to 88 ave (river road) , which follows the river into fort langley. it was colder in the trees of course but beautiful. my husband doesn't stop for pictures, which is why i didn't take more than i did. i am going to langley by car today so i will try to get some better ones then. I know it's not the same but it will have to do this time.:o

if you google map it, type in albion ferry, and you will get both ends. we started in Mission, crossed the bridge, and basically followed the river to fort langley. crossed on the ferry and then followed #7 hwy to mission again, crossed the bridge and home.

did that stupid bridge 6 times yesterday all told!
