Most of us like to take pictures of our riding journeys. Camera gear and all the goodies that go with often take a lot of space. Here is a Linky (http://www.joby.com/products/gorillapod/) to a handy little gadget that will help you get those difficult shots and not take up a lot of space in your panniers.

That is insane. I think I need to move to a border town and start receiving Canadian goods. Then once a week I could fill my panniers and do a delivery run. Think the folks at the border would catch on? :whistling:

Please post a report on them once you have had a chance to play with it a bit. I am interested but am thinking about holding out for a Helmet Cam. Once they are perfected

I can hardly wait! It works well in the house on the kitchen counter, but that isn't really putting it t a relevant test. As SOON as I can get out I will let you know.

So far, I'm kind of disappointed with mine... it doesn't want to hold my camera up. It keeps bending under the weight, even though my camera is below the recommended weight for it :(: If I can't get it to work properly, it may be returned to REI.

What size did you get? Mine is the second largest, because I was afraid of what you are saying. I'm also concerned that with use it will loosen up too much to work. Only time will tell.

I got the smallest one, because my camera's weight fell within the range that one is supposed to work for. But now I'm wondering if my cameras "official" weight is sans battery... which may bump it's overall weight up over the recommended weight for the gorillapod.

I thought I told you it wouldn't work with that 6 volt lantern battery?

I looked at that one, but it did look pretty light. I figured I'd rather spend a couple extra bucks (I had the 20% off coupon that came with my dividend) and get a heavier duty model.

I came across this while shopping for a completely unrelated item, but thought it was very clever and would come in handy for moto-photogs:

For a smaller camera that looks like a great alternative. You can't beat the portability, and pretty much everyone carries water along.
