Daytona Bike Week + AMA 200 Race

Ok, bandwidth beware. Hope you enjoy the pictures we took at the Daytona at the Speedway for the AMA 200 Race and some of the nice bikes we saw there. If you can't see them let me know. I don't know how much bandwidth I'm allowed each day. Also, they run in a loop so notice the first picture so you know when it is starting over.

I made a change to the slide show where it doesn't zoom in but shows full screen. If you mouse over the picture, you can also pause it with the controls at the bottom and navigate it a your own speed.

Great pics and vid Unforgiven. I really like some of the custom bike work. Not so much from a riding perspective but the craftsmanship involved is awesome. Race looks like it was a ton of fun!

Unfortunately, that is correct. Not a lot of people in the stands at all. Daytona Bike week attracts the cruisers. Not many at the race but there were a few.

Are ticket prices low enough that people can generally afford to go?

Not too bad. $30 for Grandstand and $45 for Grandstand/Infield which is what we did.

That isn't too bad. I'm surprised that people don't go just for something to do for the weekend.

Considering that over 500,000 bikers go through there over the course of the week, I would think more would also. A lot show up at the track to hang outside and do all the vendor stuff. Off course that place is so big, it's hard to tell how many people were really there but the stands were mostly empty.

The year I went ( back in the dark ages ) to Bike week The point in going to Daytona was to see the races everything else was a bonus.

I think the tickets are very reasonable for a chance to be able to see first hand the incredible talent of tremendously focused riders going to the extreme and pushing the envelope.
