I think we need a drag racing section for anyone who wants to post times, get tips, has tech q's about drag racing, wants to know the rules and where the nearest track is, or when the next drag race is...if there is such section than please point it out to me I might have missed it.

I am more than happy to answer questions for anyone interested in getting started or who is just curious.

I currently drag race an 06 ZX10R (just picked up about a month ago) before that I raced my 03 ZX7R.

I would love to be able to drag race my 1000RR but I just can't keep the front end down during hard acceleration. It just comes up so easy. I know stretching it would help, but I prefer the corner handling. That is very cool though. What time do you turn with that? Your running 1/8th or 1/4?

It will still wheelie...or more like hover but it is all about clutch control.

You are never to old...we have a woman on our team that races in the AHDRA (All Harley Drag Association) and she is her late 40's...not too mention all the guys that come out who are close to 50.

You can keep it down with clutch control and lots of practice. The cool thing is my extensions are removable, my lowering links are adjustable and sprockets are easy to change. I actually have a track day coming up in June which I will be setting the bike up for it normally takes a couple hours but it is not impossible.

I am still getting use to launching the 1000 so I am currently at 10.37 in the 1/4 mile but I am hoping by next month to be in the 9's. Every week I have been able to improve about a tenth of a second. Once I hit 9.99 I will have to get NHRA license to continue racing but that is pretty easy.
