My husband bought his bike last fall. After lots of time in parking lots and on frontage roads, he decided he was ready for his first Highway Trip. :riding:

So we left the puppy home. . .

Ok, sorry, I admit that has nothing to do with the ride report, I was just looking for an excuse to put the puppy picture up. :o:

. . . and hit the road to the Big Bovine.

We drove through the Potomac Valley, which is a beautiful open valley full of regular size bovines.

At last after driving on the "real highway" with speed limits of 70 miles an hour, and populated by semi trucks and a cross-country bicycle race, we arrive at the Big Bovine. Major sense of accomplishment for a new rider. The Big Bovine was my first highway trip also.

So here it is -- ta da -- the Big Bovine:

We decided to finish up by driving past Salmon Lake to the town of Seeley Lake for a celebratory and artery clogging breakfast. Then back home, for a total of a little over 100 highway miles. :ecstasy:

 Love the puppy picture! Didn't need an excuse for that one. The rest of the pics are beautiful as well. Congratulations to your hubby, sounds like you will have a good riding companion.

 I infected my BF with motorcycle mania as well. :girlpower:

Great report. You're the second person I've come across just recently to be the one to get their husband/boyfriend into motorcycling. Awesome to hear.

As a total dog person, and being totally :offtopic:, I have to know, how old is the puppy, and what kind??? Makes me want a puppy again!!!

She is about 5 months in the picture. She will be 6 months next week. We call her our UFO. Unidentified Furry Objet. She is a shelter dog, and was supposed to be a Rottweiler mix. She is way too small, though, so we have no idea what she is. It doesn't matter, we are hopelessly in love with her. She worships our 6 year old rotti mix, and its mutual, so we are a happy pack.
