So I was thinking to myself.....I've seen a few threads for pics with your bike and churches, bridges, and other works of nature......and I have a few I'd be able to post here soon....when I am not working.....but then I thought to myself.....what about the odds and ends of pictures that you keep around that are sharable??? I have a few that are motorcycle related, kinda cute, and something a fellow female rider might appreciate. So what do you think???

Do you have anything worth posting???

When a hurricane is headed your way, you've got to have your priorities straight. Move the furniture, the bikes get the living room!

He said that it was still jetted a little too rich (this is on an SV650S with an aftermarket pipe) but that it was better than it had been in the past. My worry was the all-over brown crud, but then I was shown what anti-seize looks like when it's applied and yup, that's it.

My plugs (done the same day) apparently didn't have any anti-seize applied when they were installed. The one on the right is "darn near perfect" and the left is ever so slightly running lean based on the bronze color that continues on down the threads.

And here's a great link to a page with all the info you'd need to read spark plugs: http://www.dansmc.com/spark_plugs/spark_plugs_catalog.html

This is a scored rotor. This is what happens when you bring your bike in for regular service and they fail to check your brake pads. The shop sprang for the new rotor. ($300+)

Maybe it's a Yankee thing but I didn't say a word...directly.

I was in upstate New York, about 10 hours from home, on a Sunday AM when I heard squealing from the rear wheel. We stopped to check it out, and found the rotor as pictured. I have integrated brakes, that means when I use squeeze the front, I always get rear, there is no way for me to NOT use the rear brake. I nursed the bike home, mostly engine braking ALL the way home. I had no rear brake!

I pulled out the receipt for the full service tune up...300 miles ago. No way a pad would have passed inspection 300 miles ago and then fail. I explained this perception when I called the dealer. It took a few days for the rotor to come in, and I dropped the bike off the night before (so I never talked to anyone at the shop). I picked it up the next day, and the cashier tells me the price...which was the price of the tire I had them put on while it was in the shop. They comped me not only the rotor but the brake job as well - which I thought was above and beyond because I should have paid for a brake job at the full service. So you won't hear me complain...because as you've mentioned they treated me right. But I will hesitate next time I use them...I have the luxury of 2 dealers in my area.

My only good experience was at Engels motors in Kansas City where Dakar is located. They helped me a lot when we were passing through that area. You are right to hesitate, but I must admit that there are still some good ones out there.

Glad they made it right for ya.

Happy to hear you made it home safely & the shop that did ( or in this case DIDN'T do ) the orginal tune up treated you right  (

They should have caught it in the tune up, When somthing like this happens it takes away any confidence you have in the other work they may or may not have done right:shrug:

But I will hesitate next time I use them...I have the luxury of 2 dealers in my area.

I'm surprised to hear there would even be a next time....

I keep having to learn to do more and more on my bike myself because almost every local mechanic and dealership has messed up something on my bike, so I never go back :gaah:

Perhaps I should be more forgiving....

It's easier to forgive when they are 3 miles away. ;):
They get my business on the newer bike, the 20 year old K75 goes to a private mechanic - he doesn't want to deal with all the tupper wear removal on the new one.
