This part literally made me laugh out loud:

"It's loaded with the support and protection a motorcyclist needs for street riding." :wtf:

what's loaded is that statement... loaded with BS :gaah:

I made a "comment" below the article, but I doubt they will publish it since ICON is a site sponsor.... :grump:

There's bling, and then there's flat out BS. These boots are definitely in the latter category.

Is there any difference between these and your typical wedge shortie boot from the department store?

I mean seriously, if you showed me a those boots with no other context, I'd say you'd been shopping at the semi-annual sale at Zappo's or Dillard's. :roflmao:

Actually... I think the wedges you posted would actually be safer than the ICON ones. The buckles on the ICON wedges pose an additional hazard. They could catch on something, or even dig into asphalt and catch, causing your ankle to be caught up and yanked/pulled/twisted, etc.

Gee, and I thought we'd just all get together and buy them in bulk!! :roflmao:

I wouldn't wear them off the bike, and DEFINATELY wouldn't wear them on it. I saw a tall pair like that at the motorcycle shop, and made the comment that I just couldn't see how wearing something like that made sense. Had a guy standing next to me make the comment back that it's better than wearing flip flops!!!

Why would I want those short ones when I could order the even sexier, taller 'Bombshell' boots from Icon....

I just checked back at the website, and just as I predicted, my comments about the questionable safety aspect of these boots were never posted... just comments about how "fashionable" they are

I'm not sure, but I don't know if putting a wedge heel on a boot would inherently make it harder to ride or unsafe... but I don't really see them putting any structure or protection or anything like that into their boots (and I don't understand why they don't).

I had read somewhere that the Bombshell boots get beat up easily. I was riding and met someone who was wearing them (in the canyons... with leathers... not to dinner or something), and I asked her how they were holding up. She said "great"... but they leather looked like it was falling apart all over.
