Then again, I may be in the minority. I see the thread about a rally in the dirt forum, but I've ridden in a couple long distance road rallys like the Cape Fear 1000 and The Void.
A different sort of ride. Women have a different perspective on long distance riding and we encounter some different issues, like personal security among other things.
What about the ladies who regularly go on lonnnng trips? Would be neat to have a place for folks thinking about taking a long trip or trying to get more folks to come along. A place to post ideas and questions.

Great idea. I love to live vicariously through this site. It is inspirational, even if not reality for some of us.

The Staff has thoroughly explored this option and (after reviewing the current thread topics throughout the site) we do not believe there is enough participation along this vein to justify the creation of an entirely new forum. However, we are certainly open to revisiting this option should we find an increase in the number of thread topics that explore this specific subject matter. To jump start the concept, we will be creating a thread in the "Motorcycle Discussions" forum titled "Long Distance Touring, Issues, Concerns, and Suggestions." If that thread gets enough participation, we will be happy to make it a sticky thread. Should it grow from there then we believe a new forum could be warranted.
Our main concern is reducing the possibility of insufficient THREAD activity in a newly created forum.
As a result of this suggestion, we have also recognized that the "Motorcycle riding experience and stories" forum was in need of a more appropriate reference. You will now find this forum referred to as "Motorcycle Riding Experiences and Ride Reports." We have also changed the tagline under the title to state, "The long and short of it - post your ride reports and pictures here."
We hope this change will encourage the creation of topics for both the daily commuter and the long haul riders to share both their experiences and reports in this forum.
