The KTM "Ride Experience" truck made its way to Houston this weekend so we took advantage of the offer and headed out to claim a bike as soon as they could find the waivers for us to sign.

Sadly, we had to leave after the first round of test rides and we didn't make it back in time for the raffle.

Jason and Donnie contemplating world views at breakfast before we headed to Wild West Honda/Kaw/BMW/KTM. Ok, not really - they were deciding which would get on the RC8 first.

Ride Orange! (who needs red & pink on Valentine's Day anyway)

Dennis helps Jeff find all the buttons on the big Adventure as we wait for the first group to come back from their ride. Jason and Donnie are still at it on the right...

I wasn't impressed with the handling on the 950 Super Enduro - the knobbies gave a terrifying wobble in sweeping turns (and I wasn't even going that fast). I was also tip-toeing so much I was like a ballerina on toe shoes. I wanted to give the Super Duke a try but there just wasn't enough time for the next round before we had to meet some folks out in Katy.

I ride ballerina style every day...

That is neat to get to check'em out that way! Is there a posted schedule for the KTM ride demo?

Well, it looks like you had fun for a little bit of the day.

The boys should have just arm wrestled to get it over with. You could have sold tickets and made some money for gas...

I rode the absolute tallest bike out there. I had actually claimed the 690SM but when Dennis walked around like a sad puppy because he was too short for the SE I told him it would be ok to swap out. The intention was to ride three or four before we had to leave to meet the realtor (the SO is house hunting and wanted my opinion) but since only half the bikes could go out at any given time (only one lead and one sweep were available) it just didn't work out for us.

The truck is the same one that was here back in November for the Int'l MC Show - this time they pulled a KTM "expert" from an Austin dealership to come answer questions for us instead of the national guys who are apparently still out on the road somewhere.

Oh - and although there are lots of lady riders 'round here I was the ONLY female lined up for a demo ride as of 11am when we left.

Sounds like it was one of those things you needed to spend the balance of a day at to truely enjoy the test riding
I am glad to hear you got to check the bikes out a little
Thanks for remembering us and posting the event and your pictures here

+1

Orange is a good Valentines day color.

My niece used to live in Katy, she's in Austin now.
