Gary and I took a foothills ride yesterday over several roads I had yet to experience. I am always amazed at how I believe I have ridden most of my local roads only to find out that I really have little experience on many of the lesser roadways.

So, Gary had routed out a plan, one he kept to himself as a surprise to me. We left Sacramento, for Ione, that much I knew, and then off to Pardee Dam. From Pardee we traversed the countryside me blindly following my partner and experienced some amazing pavement and some goat. I was thrilled! Great roads and amazing wildflowers, all right in our backyard! :clap

I got my chance for some wonderful phototgraphy...some of which I highlighted here and the rest of the tale and pix (all 7 pages)can be found on my blog at demenshea.com (http://demenshea.com/blog/?p=1056) :thumbsup:

:clapping::drool: demeshea a trip around the neighborhood looked like a great ride :wootrock:

Our plan this year is to explore more of our own state
I have mapped out 3 seperate trips so far :riding:

Me too

I just raked out one of my flower bed and there was ice still in the leaves that covered it

Yesterday was warm enough that by the end of the day I could begin to see my spring bulbs barely peaking through :yahoo:

And guess what ?

I heard peepers :yahoo::ecstasy::wootrock::D:

Spring is here

I know it isn't much but I am so ready for spring and this hit the orchard hard again this year. Just frustrating that we have lost so many trees to the drought and freezes we have had in the last 8 years. I am down to 6 trees and two of them are walnut trees. :grump:

Rant over...:shrug:

I read that if the fruit trees haven't flowered that they may be ok. Hope they are alright.

Weather forcast is for the storm that KK and Dakar are getting is suppose to move up here this week (thanks alot). We always get a few false springs before the good weather decides to stick around.
