I decided to celebrate the beginning of June by going on a ride this morning. I spent no time planning, just got on the bike and pointed it down the road. It was about 70 when I left the house at 9:00. The sun was shining, but it was windy. I hesitated a moment, then decided it could huff and puff but it would blow my fun down!
My first stop was in Loon Lake. I pulled over to see the historical school house, but it has been so refurbished it looks like any other new school. I did like the mascot sign in the lawn though.

From there I rode to Kettle Falls. I wasn't sure what I might find, but I was pleasantly surprised by how pretty the little Kettle Falls Park is.
This is a model of an old water wheel they use back in the day.

The falls are nice.

After wandering around the park for a while I went back into town and got lunch. None of the food was great, but I got free apple pie because they were celebrating the beginning of June too!
I left Kettle Falls and headed South on a random road. It turned out to be a great choice. Not only was it crazy twisty, but it ran next to the water for many miles.

I had left the water when I saw a sign for another dam. Cool! The pics of the dam didn't turn out because it was fenced off and at an awkward angle, but down river was nice.

it wasn't a long ride, only a little over 200 sMiles, but it was a great way to begin the month.
