I left early Tuesday morning to meet up with Tyler and BikerBunny. It was a perfect day for riding.
My first stop, after filling up with gas, was at the oldest rest area in Washington. If you're going to pee, make it historical!

The first part of the ride repeated the roads we drove with the girls last weekend, but I got a few new pics.
Maybe they should get some Lemon Pledge?

Much of the scenery was typical Oregon ranch land.

But then I got to route 395 in Oregon! OH MY GOD! This road is fantastic! The google earth image can't do it justice, because in addition to amazing twists and turns, the road has amazing scenery and NO traffic! :yahoo: :riding::ecstasy:

I was having WAY too much fun to stop for pictures.
I got into Prairie City before Tyler and crew, so I went exploring. That's why the SPOT showed us in different places. I was out doing a little extra playing...:redface1:

After my exploring I went to the local tavern for a beer while I waited for everyone else to arrive. Everyone else was taking pictures, so I didn't take any. Hopefully some of those pictures will be posted after they finish the trip. In the mean time, this is the tavern (http://www.prairiecityoregon.com/prairie-city-oregon-oxbow-restaurant.html) where I had my beer, and where we ate dinner.
This is the hotel (http://www.prairiecityoregon.com/prairie-city-oregon-hotel-prairie.html) where we stayed.
After everyone was settled in their rooms we all went to dinner. Megan, a woman riding by herself that Tyler found and invited to dinner, ordered a cocktail. The waitress/bartender had no idea how to make a martini, and our red wine came chilled, but other than that all was good. :D: We followed dinner with visiting on the back patio of the hotel. What a great day and great company!

Wednesday morning we agreed to have breakfast at 7:30. A few of the people Tyler had asked to join us were at breakfast as well as at dinner the night before.

One of her "finds" were Bill and Linda Hutchinson who produce the "Come Ride With Us" maps of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. They don't have their website up yet, but when it goes on-line the address will be comeridewithus.net. The maps are super detailed and show indicate whether the roads are paved or unpaved and often how many curves are on them. As an example, one 15 mile stretch of road has 112 corners!!! This is an area to visit if you want great riding all within a few minutes of a central place to stay, and the maps are invaluable!
On the advice of Bill, I rode the lower part of 395 on my way home, then turned off and went into the town of Ukiah, and took Oregon 244 to LaGrande.

This ride was many miles of twisties along a river valley. I saw 2 other cars the entire time!
I didn't stop for pictures all day, in part because much of the day was 100+ degrees and I needed to keep moving to prevent myself from feeling toasted!
As you could tell if you looked at my SPOT tracks, I rode 830 miles in two days of absolute motorcycling bliss. And the best part was when I got home, Nut and the girls had a BBQ smoked pork sandwich and cold beer waiting for me! Life doesn't get much better than that!
