During an interview with the BBC, Valentino Rossi warned that Yamaha must choose between keeping him or team-mate Jorge Lorenzo for the 2011 MotoGP season.

"Yamaha have to decide between me and Jorge for 2011," he said. "I have a great option to join Ducati."

Lorenzo has been Rossi's closest rival this year, only losing the title to the nine time world champion at the penultimate round of the season.

Rossi has repeatedly stated his displeasure at developing a bike that will also benefit his closest championship rival. 2009 marks the first time that Rossi's team-mate has finished second in the championship.

Both Rossi and Lorenzo will remain at Fiat Yamaha next season.

:popcorn1:

Rossi on a Ducati :chin: Wouldn't Stoner also be considered a close rival? I think Stoner would have been more of a threat than Lorenzo this year if he hadn't had health issues.

When all the push is shove is over.
Sadly it will likely all come down to the money.:(:

Rossi could take any manufacturer's bike to the next level. Let's face it, he sure does spank the preformance out of his Yamaha

:shrug:Wouldn't that just take the cake for Rossi and his pit crew to improve on Stoner's Ducati ( who I believe has been his biggest challenger for the title ) :confused2:

Stoner will still do what he does so well and just pitch a fit :mghissyfit: :slaphead: but then who or what would he blame for not finishing first.

You guys are assuming that Stoner would be the one staying with Ducati. He is a great rider but he has a lot of overhead with his attitude. It is said that heis basically a little Biotch when he doesn't get his way and has the maturity of a 5 year old.

I think the fact that no other rider seems to be able to match Stoners success riding the Ducati goes a very long way towards overlooking his personality shortcomings and attitude problems.

There is no better job security for Stoner than the fact that no one has been able to come close to the success he has had on that bike. Period. Ducati would be insane to let him go.

Provided he can stay healthy (if that was ever an issue) I can't disagree but I just don't know. I still he think Rossi mentally broke him. Now think about this though. If Rossi goes to Ducati, he wants to be the star of Ducati and not share the spotlight with someone that is going to better him. If Rossi tells Ducati that he wants to come over and the condition is that he takes Stoners ride, Ducati will drop Stoner like a hot potato.

Hmmmmm..... looks like 2010 is going to be one interesting year! One thing I'm sure of, Rossi knows exactly what he's doing. I already have my motel reserved for Laguna Seca! Damn, I'm SO addicted!

One more of Rossi's head games. I'm sure it's all done to get Jorge's panties in a bunch.
