Thought I'd share some pictures from my recent track day at Reno-Fernley Raceway in Fernley, Nevada.
This was my first time at this track. I was a little bit nervous about the day, I had heard that the track wasn't very smooth and since it was privately owned, no facilities on site either!!!
But...the track was fairly smooth, there were a few spots of bumpiness, but otherwise great track. There were no facilities, but porta-potties provided, which were very clean both days that I was out there. OH! And a lunch truck that came by....mom and daughter team who made some killer pulled pork sammiches!
Previous to RFR, I had only ridden Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, California. THill is a 15 turn course, pretty much all left handers and is very fast. RFR on the other hand is 3 miles of track with 23 turns..yes I said 23, a nice back and forth of left and right and at the end there is the "Bowl". The Bowl is a 45 degree banked left sweeper that is the most awesomest thing you could ever hope for on a track. With each lap I made all I wanted to do was get back to the Bowl.
Here's the track configuration:

With all those turns, RFR really makes you work! Come Monday morning every muscle in my body was sore. Right handers are my weak point, so RFR was a really great learning experience for me. Being forced repeatedly to make so many right turns, many very tight, helped me get comfortable and then get confident.
Ok enough babbling, here's a few pics, courtesy of 4TheRiders...
(don't let that beautiful cloudy sky fool you, it was freeeeeezing out there. Saturday we even had snow!!)

This is my boyfriend chasing me down.....he found the mohawk that someone had brought to the track. I think it works with the 80's wonder helmet :laughing
