View Full Version : Install Success: Adjustable Levers

I figured since I posted about a failure, I'd better even it out. :yahoo:
I installed adjustable levers yesterday from the eBay seller Fire Dragon Bros. :clapping: I'm no expert but the quality of the levers is just fine for $55 (delivered) Pazzo knockoffs from China. The levers fit without any hassle and despite the instructions I did need to use the sleeve they said I wouldn't. the instructions don't tell you how to install them but it's common sense. The shipping was pretty quick and the seller provided tracking.

Install was easy, even with my meager tools, once I discovered you CAN tighten a bolt too tight. After a quick ride, I realized I should've done this a long time ago. My short fingers no longer had a problem reaching for the levers.:cloud9: Even with the OEMs, I had them adjusted as close to the bar as they could go. With these, I learned that the so called clutch adjuster is not really an adjuster. I used to have a lot of free play in the clutch lever, now that is gone since I can use the adjuster on the lever for comfort and the one on the cable to keep the lever tight.

It was a relatively short ride and am looking forward to a longer one so I can assess all of my recent changes (new windscreen, new levers, synced carbs, and different rear tire). Hmm...wonder if anyone got that dam tag yet?

Results? No proof without pictures so here you go:

:ecstasy:
And for grins, while I was at it, I lubed my cables. :pompom: No, I still don't know how this tool works:

I just used the red straw like the guy who works on my brother's bike told me to.:wootrock:

I'd like to check those out, but I'm having no luck finding that seller on eBay. Do you have a URL you could post? Thanks!

Congratulations on your success story. :clapping:
I was just thinking this morning I really need to do something about my levers for my short fingers! Unfortunately they don't have anything for my bike, but when I pursue it, I'll know it can be done.

You would be surprised. Levers are pretty universal. One way is to check out the ron ayers fiche reverse lookup and see what other bikes are listed for your part number.

I will be adding a pair to my Suzuki VX800 but there aren't any listed for that specific model. However the levers from a 2006 Katana will fit a 93 VX. You just have to do a little research.
