I decided to follow the Pony Express route from St Joseph, MO to Julesberg, CO. I got there by going thru Arkansas and camping along the way. When I got to Branson the scooter started having problems. The closest Piaggio dealer was in Springfield and thanks to AMA I was picked up and dropped off at J J's Cycles. After looking at the bike for a couple days, it was decided I had a cracked fuel pump and they did not have one in stock. I was going to rent a truck and head back home with the scooter. My wonderful husband would not hear of it. He drove up with the truck after working all day. He brought his scooter so I could continue my vacation, We both have X9s but he changed out the seats, lowered the windshield and hooked up my GPS and satellite radio, kissed me and sent me on my way.
I had a wonderful time and amazing weather even though I got rained on most of the way thru Nebreska. Little Minden, NE amazed me with there museum started by Harold Warp http://www.pioneervillage.org/
Check out the links, I hope you enjoy the pictures.
One other thing, my husband is a scooter mechanic and has always worked on my bike, so I have never had to pay labor charges or even parts (he takes care of those for me). I was floored on what I had to pay for labor charges just to get my bike checked out in Springfield.
I don't have pictures from staying at Jean Petit State Park. They were on a card that was on my laptop that mysteriously disappeared on this trip
I hiked into the top pf the waterfall. One other guy hiking there told me he could hike down from the top of the waterfall. I sat and thought I would watch him do that. It did not happen. Another hiking trail I did was to Bear Cave and took pictures of large rocks that looked alot like turtle shells
