13-year old Peter Lenz from Vancouver, WA died today at Indy.
So sad, but his dad wrote the nicest tribute ever:
"He passed doing what he loved and had his go fast face on as he pulled onto the track"My thoughts go out to his family and all his friends. I feel so bad for the kid that accidentally hit him. I hope that kid is able to get back up and race to honor his competitor's memory.

I read about this over the weekend. He was quite an accomplished, award-winning rider for being so young. It's a shame his life was cut so tragically short. I really feel for his family, and for the young man who hit him.

My husband were just talking about crashes during moto racing a few days ago and he said, "rarely do riders get seriously injured or killed unless hit by another rider." I am sooooo sad this happened. I can only imagine the sorrow.

My heart goes out to his family. We lost an amazing little racer close to home. He was also very articulate, especially for a 13 year old. He wrote articles about his racing experiences for Road Racing World.

Rest in peace young racer.
