When I posted Lizzard Babies, I did the copy and paste thingy. Everything went through ok except the first few lines and then a line or two in the middle of the post. What could have caused this? I'm not much of a computer person so please give your answers as through you were talking to a six year old, well better make that four.

It looks like the other site used something other than black font for their post, and when it pasted over here, our site translated it as black. I'll go fix it for you.

I always have a problem with what I paste not looking like I think it should. When I do a trip report, I write it in a word processor, even using the same font as here, but when I paste it, it isn't the same.

Here's my solution:

After you paste what you want into your post, go to "Preview Post" rather than just submitting it right away. You'll see if it looks like it should. If it doesn't, down to the edit box (below the preview), and change it. When it comes to fonts, I always have to change it. Then preview again to see if it works. Repeat as necessary.

Not elegant, but it works.

Thanks for the info. One of my problems is I always jump the gun. After I saw what it looked like I did try to edit it but didn't have any success. Thanks to RidingAK it finally came out right. But next time I'll look before I leap.

Another very simple way is highlight the entire text and hit the purple/black button to the left of the text type box. ( REMOVE TEXT FORMATTNG) It will automatically make the post " our" forum friendly.

THANK YOU LT! :worthy: This is the way to make sure your formatting is "standard" for the forum. Much faster than my way.
