Hey all!
I'm sure this has been discussed a-million-and-one times...
I'm a pretty short rider (5'1") looking to avoid lowering my bike through a good pair of boots. I know pretty well of the Ladystars, but I'm wondering if anyone here has had a good experience with another (cheaper?!) boot? :redface1:
One boot that has caught my attention is the TCX Women's Sunray boot

I've heard a lot of great things about them, and reviews say they do afford a bit more height than normal boots.
Any thoughts? :)

those look good, are they water proof?
EDIT: I think I tried those on, they didn't fit the calves.

They are very waterproof according to a few reviews I read.
The dealership where I bought my bike got me a great deal on them, so I ordered them to try on... I'll let you know how they fit. My calves are pretty calfy for my size shoe, but I'm hopeful!

hey asymons..... I never bought these boots , but I did try them on and they're very comfortable. The girl who helped me says they are the best! I too am a very short rider....5'2" 5'3" on a good day ( not many ) I had to lower my bike, it's the only way I felt comfortable and in control. Good luck and let me know how they work out.:):

I know you said you know of the ladystars, and yes they are pricey, but I gotta tell you they were definitely worth it for my wife. She even did a thread on it - http://www.twowheelfemales.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3656&highlight=daytona+ladystar
Her inseam is only 29" and they have been a godsend for her. This weekend really proved how much she has gotten used to them too. We went to go do some dual sport riding on the big bikes, but she didn't want to wear the Daytona's since we'd be off road in the dirt/gravel, so she wore her old BMW boots. I was amazed at how she couldn't flat foot her loaded down F650GS when she normally has no problem with the Daytona's even with nothing on her bike. They really do make a huge difference.
We went through several lowered bikes until she got these boots and I'm so happy she has the confidence now to ride bikes at regular height vs lowering them.
BTW on the same thread she posted on ADV - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=514635&highlight=daytona+ladystar, someone posted a link to the LadyStar's for under $350 on a different site from Germany. - https://www.fc-moto.de/epages/fcm.sf/de_DE/?ViewObjectID=4421325&Currency=USD
Toolie in the thread said she got hers from that thread for just a tad over $300.

Hey all! Just to let you know, the boots came today-- I'm about to go out with the boyfriend to do parking lot practice, but here's my first impression:
First of all, the boots fit true to size! :omg: If anything, they're a bit roomier than normal which allows for thick socks and a very comfortable fit.
On flat feet, they do offer a bit more height than my normal paddock boots, but on tippy toes I find it doesn't do much on my bike. :mghissyfit: Well, my soupy lowering links are in the mail...
I will say they seem to afford fantastic protection-- I have a nasty bruise on my shin from dropping my bike last week. If I had these boots, it would have been averted-- they have a hard, I'd say 1/4" padding on the shin for protection and are very sturdy/reinforced through the ankle. That extra padding will take a bit of getting used-to, however, as far as where to place my leg when tip-toeing on my bike so as not to bump into things.
Reflectors on the back are always a plus.
I'll let you know how they ride! I'm a little nervous about the extra toebox room/the extra inch foot I can't feel, but it just might help me in the long-run!
:ecstasy:
Also, they are very schmexy.
By the way Blue Lghtning, the only reason I tried these before the Ladystars is because my dealership isn't able to order Ladystars through their distributors, which means I wouldn't be able to use my $200 gift card on them. :P
