Hey Everyone!
This coming Monday (the 25th) is a Red Shift M/C School track day - out at Buttonwillow. They have a really great novice program that incorporates class room sessions between track sessions, a braking drill, and controlled follow the leader track sessions in the morning. After lunch you are turned out to practice what you've learned and if you want more instruction you can sign up to work with an instructor one on one.
I've completed this school twice, back in 2002, and now I'm an instructor for the novice group! It is such a great feeling to be able to help people develop their confidence!
The cost is $149, and they even supply breakfast and lunch! Plus, they offer two-up rides as a learning tool (or just for fun) - and let me tell you, from experience, there is absolutely NOTHING like going two up with Chuck Sorenson around the race track!!!! OMG!!!
Other instructors include Tom Montano and Jason Perez.
If you'd like to sign up go to www.rideredshift.com (http://www.rideredshift.com)
Also! For you AFMers - The AFM Board recently confirmed the layout they will race in Oct, and this track day will use that layout! The Rev Config for the AFM Oct race includes the Star Mazada corner, by-passes Lost Hills, and incorporates the 'alternate' T2.
Ride safe!
