Thanks for the quick welcome! I'm a professional website developer, living in the mountains of rural New Mexico and telecommuting full-time to an employer in Chicago. I came to riding fairly late - it was something I'd always wanted to do but never felt like I had a good opportunity until we moved out here to the land of glorious riding weather. At age 42, I decided I didn't want to be a decrepit old lady someday and still talking about how I wished I'd learned to ride, so I quit talking and did it.

I have three giant dogs, two cats, four birds, a tank of fish, and a husband (the fish are his!). I ride a '95 Kawasaki Vulcan and the husband rides a '73 Norton 750 Commando. We enjoy long riding trips, but I'm not sure how much we'll be able to do with the Norton. Last fall before he got the Norton running we rode the Vulcan and his old Yamaha Vision from Albuquerque to the north and south rims of the Grand Canyon on a long weekend camping trip, and had a terrific time.

I'm looking forward to reading the forums and getting to know some other women riders. I am a member of the Motor Maids, but our district is enormous and most of our members are out of state so I don't participate much.

Website developers are always good to have around! I'm in the learning wagon as far as that goes :) I started schooling in 99/2000 for computer science and hated that aspect of coding.

Spent the time since then doing mostly repair after getting my MCSE. Now i'm learning xhtml/css/and basic php.
