View Full Version : First gear purchase
Yesterday, I stopped in at a local Cycle Gear to check out what they had to offer. I was particularly interested in trying on a specific brand of jacket/pants... which of course they didn't have. They DID have a few jackets in my size though. I made a note of the one I liked for when I'm in the market.
I thought they had a pretty decent selection of women's gloves, incredibly enough. Since I still needed to pick up something I can wear during the MSF course, I chose these from Bilt (http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=5000&L2=3&L3=130&L4=131&item=TWL_BLG13-GB-XXS_G). I'll probably need better ones later.
Then during chat last night, I got a notification on my phone about new items on Craigslist. There was a jacket listed for a good deal, so I contacted the seller and to make a long post short(er), I am now the proud owner of my first motorcycle jacket (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/2/49/20062/ITEM/Speed-and-Strength-Womens-Kiss-n-Tell-Jacket.aspx)! :wootrock:
Tomorrow I'm calling to sign up for the MSF course!! I'm nervous, but excited at the same time!!

Sweeeet!!!
One thing I love about Cycle Gear is that you can order things that are not in their store. I really wanted a specific helmet and jacket, but they didn't carry it. They looked it up in their database, had it shipped to that store in a few days, called me when it arrived, and I got exactly what I wanted! Did I mention that I love Cycle Gear??? Something to think about for your future purchases. Good luck on the MSF course! Don't forget to have fun! :riding:

That's good to know!! I know their website has the pants I was looking to try on, but they didn't have any in the store. I wonder if they'd order it in just to try on... hmmm.

 I signed up for the course today --- it starts Tuesday! I'm so, so, SO excited and yet super nervous! I was shaking when I got off the phone (which is how I react when my nerves get the better of me). I hope I don't do that on Tuesday.

If the weather report holds accurate you'll have a perfect day for riding. If you haven't read any of the threads here about what to expect, what to bring, do it now. I think this was the most recent one...msf class - LeCruz (http://www.twowheelfemales.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5050&highlight=msf+snacks)

I sure hope the weather is nice. And if it decides to rain (or snow!), that it does so in the morning when we're inside. :):
Thanks for the link to that post. I read through it and will try to keep the suggestions there in mind on Tuesday. Dress in layers, bring water and snacks, potty often. Relax... hahahahahahahaha
Off to read some more!
