New Bike

I just bought a new bike. It is a Black 2000 BMW R1150GS decked out with all the Farkels a person could want for LD riding!:thumbup:
Man is it FUN! I didn't have my heated clothing and rode tell I got cramps from the cold. I just couldn't help myself:lol
I have been looking for some time for one and everything I found didn't click. I had stopped looking and just figured I would just keep putting the sMiles on the Dakar and RT.
Then comes the sad part. This bike belonged to a wonderful man cut down in his prime from systemic staph infection. :( He was a member of the Kansas City BMW club. They had a sale on Sat for the club members only and that was when I first saw the bike with out Mark on it. And it clicked. But I went home and kept telling myself that I didn't need one more bike. But my MMS won out and I told myself that I could sell one in the spring and make it all better!:bs So I went Sunday and rode it. Dang now I own it.:confused: Thats what happened with the RT too. Took it for a test ride and then drove it home! Note to self: no more test rides!!!:tongue

I told his Sister that I would send them pics as I made my rounds on the bike so they would know that it went to someone that was going to use it like Mark did. She took a bunch of pics before I left and said that she was very happy that it went to someone that knew Mark and that liked to ride like he did. I left with tears coming on...

I look forward to putting the sMiles on this bike. (but with heated gear!) I am planning already for next year...oh wait I'm going riding tomorrow rain or shine!

Safe driver.
No smoke/drink.
Lack of moving violations.
And MSF all help too.
But after #3 it is all the same....:(
