Sukida SK125 Choke Issues

Hey all,
Noob here, been riding just over 3 weeks now on my cute lil 125 Sukida. It's been great up until the last 5/6 days when it's decided to play up. Originally i thought it was because i ran out of petrol (i had!) but the issue i've got has continued after switching to reserve, and even after filling the tank. It just won't start on no choke even when i've been riding for a while. Starts fine on full choke, half choke then i switch to no choke and it dies! I rang the bloke at the bike dealers and he said 'You've probably got confused with which way switches it on and off' Yes mr sarcastic bloke, i don't know how to read manuals. Grrr. And besides...if no choke (or what i think is no choke) was actually full choke...it should still be starting anyway right? So i'm having to ride on half choke because it just won't work otherwhise! Any idea's what it might be? I'm going to end up having to take it back to the sarcastic bike man i think but the dealer is in a big scary city and i'm not brave enough to tackle those roads yet having only been in and around my nice lil countryside village so far! So please help :D

P.S Will i be doing any damage by riding on half-choke?

It sounds like there was some dirt in the bottom of the tank and when you switched to reserve it got into the carburetor and partly stopped it up. It won't hurt to run it partly choked for the short term but it needs to be fixed soon.
