What is the longest ride you have gone on? I rode 100 miles in 1 day. We went up a nice country road towards the North Georgia Mountains. :riding:
622 miles from Santa Rosa to Las Vegas, in one day. Then 2 days rest, and did it again coming home.

My best friend just moved to Las Vegas, so I'm sure I'll become very familiar with the SF to Las Vegas road trip :lol

It's 950 miles from KC to El Paso Tx. But I got 127 miles down the road and found I had left my tent poles at home. SUCKS:mad ! Turned around went back got them and drove all the way to El Paso.
Lets see 127 x2 plus 950 makes for a looooooong day. All that and I didn't even sign up for an Iron Butt Ride! Dang it!:lol
And that was the start of my almost 5000 mile ride around the great west coast.
I'll be doing a longer one in 07...
Did I happen to mention that I like to ride....

My longest in one day is about 250 miles, and another hundred the next day (so a total of 350 in one weekend). It's pretty standard for us to cover 100-200 miles on a typical weekend ride.
I'm planning a longer trek to head downstate to meet up with some other ladies (was going to try to do it tomorrow, but am waiting till their next ride in March). It's a bit over 200 miles each way just from my house to the meeting spot, then probably take in 100-150 mile ride with them... so looking at betweek 500-600 miles in one day (wish me luck!)

What is the longest ride you have gone on?
In one day? A SS1000, around Lake Michigan.
As a trip? Oh, gee... Um, WI to NC & back, in under a week, for a weekend rally (at the Biltmore estate).

Something over 800 miles on the Alcan returning from our tour in '07. As anyone who has ridden the road can vouch for, it isn't exactly the easiest riding road in the world... My knees were hurting pretty good by the time we were done.
I'm hoping to do an iron butt soon, but timing is an issue.

I did 2400 miles in three days around Lake Superior and Wisconson on my sportster in the early 90's. I was much younger and dumber then as it was a stock seat with no sheepskin.......owch! I look back and see all of the mistakes I made but like to think I have learned as a result of a trip like that.

360 miles in one day on a Honda 1000RR sportbike. Afterward I felt like I had been run over by a truck and then they backed over me again to see what they had hit.

That would be Muncho Lake to Tok, Alaska. Left Muncho at 630am and arrived Tok at 9pm after the time zone changes. Advil was my best friend the next day.

I have ridden 300-500 mile days and felt great afterward. The longest rides for me are not the total miles but those with adverse situations. Extreme heat which leaves you exhausted even after a short ride, or when we rode 300 km (180+ miles) in Slovenia. Narrow windy roads with different traffic rules, signs not in English, and hoping you really are where you expect to be after that last turn really takes its toll. Off road in the sand, after 50 miles I am completely wiped ~ for days! It all depends on ergonomics of the bike and the situation in which I am riding. I rode a borrowed bike once on a run I have done regularly on a different bike without even thinking about it. Round trip ~ 100 miles. I honestly didn't think I was going to make it home on that borrow bike. I was ready to push the bike into a ditch and thumb a ride.

I have ridden about 115 miles in one day. We left Bakersfield and took the back way to Caliente and over to Lake Isabella, then over Greenhorn Mountain back to Bakersfield. It was great ride until we were about 20 miles from home and the temperate had risen to 104.:):

I agree with you Astir,
my 623 miles with comfortable 75F ride and no wind, was perfectly OK, was I looking forward to arrive, yes but was not exhausted, but 250 miles wit a day with rain and strong wind is much more tyering, or even 20 mile ride in stop and go in heavy traffic.
All depends on the condition.
I did 466.63 miles from home to Logan, NM. It was one of my shortest rides because of my fascination of riding to Colorado. My 361.20 ride home from Amarillo was one of my longest because of the heat and lack of mountains

I like long rides. When going out to scrub in new tires, it is not unusual to end up in another state. :beebop:
I do try to avoid like the plague, straight butt boring stretches of road....
scenic straight stretches, ok.....
adversity with straight stretches, ok....
butt boring stretches of road - not so much. my mind refuses to participate and goes on safari.

The longest for me is between 800 and 900 kilometers per day. Last year - from Chilliwack to San Fransisco in 2 days. And this year Chilliwack, Winthrop, Republican, Rossland, Nacusp, Chilliwack in 2 days, ( a lot of twisties) and Chilliwack to Jasper past ice fields, Jasper , Little Fort, Green Lake, Cache Creek. Cashe Creek, Duffy Lake, Whistler, Chilliwack. Loved every minute of it.

2 up in 1981 did 800 miles. Santa Rosa to Yosemite. All through Yosemite and then down 5 to glendale on a 81 Suzuki GS1000G stock seat and Vetter faring. Started at 6 am and ended at 4 am the next day. A LOT of 20Mph in the park.
My 13 year old and I did 431 miles a couple of weeks ago on a Sat ridding a 85 FJ1100 with a corbin seat and full bags. Left the house at 6:30 AM and we where home by 6 PM. About 170 freeway and the rest was in the mountains.
One of these days I will do a SS1000 just to say that I have done it.

I have so many miles 2 up that it really does not matter to me if it is one or 2 up.
The embracing part was that after that 800 mile day on the final 100 mile leg 1 mile from the house I stalled the bike at a red light and dropped it. O-well

Wow! I am just a beginner ... but I have dreams of seeing many parts of the country while in the seat. My longest ride so far was about 180 miles in one day, however 5 miles of that took 2 hours in 90 + degree heat. I was really exhausted by the time we arrived.
I have completed several 100 mile days this summer. It seems that anything more than 100 and my rear end really hurts. I have been looking at seat options, but I haven't bought anything yet. I will have to buy something before doing more than 200 in a day - I would not be able to take enough motrin!

so far my longest ride was the weekend we went up through the catskills to my dads, then up through the adirondacks to lake george, and from lake george to a concert at tanglewood in MA and back home again. we clocked nearly 200 for days 1 and 2 and then a big push on day 3 of about 275 miles.
we were planning a trip out to PGH this weekend that would have been nearly 400 miles out on sat. and back on sunday - two different routes - but with the weather getting so cold suddenly, we decided we better not. (honestly we're both so pie-in-the-sky stubborn we would have done it but my friend michelle decided to join us so it's better we drive.) we have the routes all planned out and we're really excited about doing it - next year I guess!
