Any other female racers here? This will be my third season roadracing with the AFM in Northern California. Seems like each year we have more and more women on the track. It's a very good thing. ;)

I've been told I should race but I feel like I need a lot more tracktime before I'd feel comfortable even contemplating it.

My favorite tracks are T-hill and buttonwillow. Right now, with my wrists messed up, I do better at buttonwillow because I don't use my brakes much, it has a better flow for that.

My favorite trackday organizer is takeit2thetrack.net. :) They are so awesome. My favorite school is the Pridmore Star School

Awesome, Keigwin's will treat you right. I'm an instructor with Zoom Zoom Track Days, come do a day with us. I am a little biased, but we have the best instruction around. ;)

Haven't done the new Reno/Fernley yet, we'll be there April 8th/9th with Zoom Zoom. Can't wait to try the new stuff. With the old configuration, I got to my fastest track speed ever there! That front straight is sooooo long. I can only imagine how much more fun it will be with the exciting back section too. Love the "Bowl" turn.

I used to ride w/Keigwins. I choose not to anymore because my ex works with them and I'm allergic to him.

Hopefully next year I can afford it. I taught with STT for 2 years though and taking a year off to get my new store running smoothly enough.

Very cool!

How do you like the FZR 400? I've always wanted a 400 sportbike but could never find one in my price range :(

Despite the fact that its a little long in the tooth, its a really fun bike. It was originally targeted to the race crowd when it came out and was pretty trick back then. It feels light when you're riding it - the FZR had mass centralization waaay before Honda stuck it into their CBRs but in reality, its not that light compared to a modern sport bike. Stripped down for the track I think its still over 400 lbs. They come up for sale every now and then and are usually under $2500.

I haven't needed to do much to my FZR to make it more trackworthy, mostly stuff with the front brakes: R6 front calipers, R1 master cylinder, and better suspension. This is all stuff you probably end up doing with any bike headed for the track.

Heh, maybe. I hear the straight is pretty long at RF. Will I fall asleep before I get to the end of it on the mighty mighty EX250?

Well, I've only done RF on the Monster, although I really thought it would be fun on the EX. (Especially the "Bowl")

But, I've never ridden the new stuff. I have a feeling it'll be fun no matter what you're on. 4+ miles! Tons of turns! Sounds good to me. ;)

eh, I doubt I'll bring her out. I wanna get tires on her for sure, then once I do, I wanna take her out for a session at Thill. You have no idea how much more confident I was riding the EX after the track day :) I wanna get that comfy with the Monster, but after she gets shoes.

+1 right here baby!

Hubby & I race WERA West...

Since I started doing track days - hell, even just riding - in 2001/2002 there has been such an increase in chick riders!
I remember my first ever trackday - there was one other girl! Most of the time for that next year or so I would be the only girl!!!

Last year with WERA West there were 5 chicks! There's a little gal - who's like 12 or 13 (I think) - who was racing a mini with WERA last year and is now on a 125 - she's SO cute! I think it's awesome she's out there! :riding:

Keep it up girlies! We need more!
