I saw this thread in ADVrider and thought it might be fun to show off some of our pictures to the TWF family.
Here's a shot I took overlooking a part of the Blueridge Pkwy in May of this year.

I don't think I ever told the full story behind this one when I posted that part of my ride report. We had ridden a lot of miles that day. It was hot. It was windy. And I was very dehydrated. I struggled coming into town knowing I was WAY past the time I should have been riding. We stopped in this parking lot and I started to get off the bike to go in with Bobby to see if they had a room available, but my knees were so shaky I didn't trust myself to be able to get in. To cover how bad I was feeling I got out the camera and was just messing around taking pictures. Then I looked in my rearview and this caught my eye. We ended up having to go a bit farther down the road before we were able to get a room, and the combination of drinking a bottle of water while I waited for Bobby and the adrenaline from taking what I knew would be a pretty cool pic kept me going long enough to make it into the garage at the motel where we stayed.

In retrospect, I wish we had done a lot of things differently. We obviously needed to drink much more water, and we should have taken more breaks. Even if we had gotten into town later in the evening, we would have felt a lot better if we'd taken the time to rest and stretch every 100 miles or so during the day.

Mirrored window at a one horse pit stop in a 1/2 horse town in Ga. It was HOT!!! I was Burning up. I went inside the store to get a drink and they were smoking cigarettes. It was a thick blue haze... I left, and saw this before I passed out from heat...ok I didn't pass out but it was hot!

Nut has a great eye, and takes really good pictures, but he hasn't spent the time to learn all the bells and whistles on my camera so it frustrates him. When I eventually get a new camera, I'm hoping he'll carry the one I have now and get to really know it.

The best way to learn photogrsphy is to take a lot of pictures and see what works. With digital it's a lot cheaper to do than with flilm. And that was a very worthy shot.:thumbup:

The placement of the BMW RT series mirrors does not lend itself to riding and capturing much scenery in the background and capturing an image in the mirror, but I do not have to look at my shoulders in the mirrors either.
