Ok Ladies, I NEED your Help and Opinions... I have some problems/issues... I currently have a cruiser style bike, not because that's what I wanted, but because that is what fit my inseam. I keep reading a lot about you ladies on Ninja 250's and how tall and what I like to say "vertically challenged" you are, but I have come to find by sitting on a 2012 Ninja 250 myself, that it is not about your height so much as it is your inseam.I am 5'3' but my inseam is barely 27 inches. I am very small framed and weigh 112 lbs. Here are a few of the problems/issues that I encounter: My cruiser does not have a wind shield and I find that at higher speeds, which is a huge issue, I have to hold on with a "death grip" just to stay on the bike, and by doing so find it very difficult to turn the handle bars in curves etc. and maintain the speed limit, I always slow way down just so that I know that I am in control. Turning (curves) is also a huge problem with me, I tell my BF that because the "rake" on my bike sticks out way further than his (he has a sport bike), I feel like I have to literally "muscle" it to get the bike to turn. I tell him that guys have a lot more upper body strength than women, so it's a little tougher for us.I have been looking at the Ninja 250's thinking the windshear would be different and also the rake is much closer in, and that this would give me the confidence that I need. Now let me just tell you, that I only have my permit because every time we go to sign up for the MSF class it has been either really cold here or hot so we are trying to get into a "Fall" class. I have done a lot of reading and different things are being said about how to get the Ninja 250 to fit me like trying first with "shaving" the seat, etc.
Ladies, I LOVE riding and want to continue to do so, but I am loosing the "want" as I stress out so much when I encounter these two things. Any help/suggestions/advise would be greatly apprteciated!!!! Please Help!!!!!!

Ladyjett, I have a 2012 Ninja250, and I'm just shy of 5'5 and can just about flat foot the bike (I have an inseam of about 29 in). My previous Ninja (a 2006) had lowering links on it, and so was a bit too low for my liking and I love the height of this new one much better. My point being you can get them lowered pretty easily. They corner and turn beautifully because they are light and very nimble (and are pretty forgiving). As for wind, they do get pushed around a bit because they are so light, but once you learn to ride with the wind it's not too big a deal. I love my bike and am glad to have had the opportunity to have spent my first year riding on a 250. My confidence has grown immensely, I believe, because of it. Next year I'll be ready for something bigger, but even so I'll be keeping my Ninja, cause it's just so much fun to ride.
