Yeah, it really is. I know BMW was trying not to loose the name of the F650GS and scare aware beginners from an 800cc bike, but when they decided to name their single bikes the G series and the twins the F series they should have just left the G650GS being the new name for their already existing bike and kept it there. It would have been much easier to just say the G650GS replaces the F650GS and there is no current F650GS.

The new F650GS twin (800cc bike) should have taken on the F800GS name and the current F800GS should just been named the F800 GS Adventure since that's exactly what it is. The F650GS twin & F800GS are pretty much in the same playing field, except the 800 has the 18/21" wheels and more off road capability making it more the adventure bike just like the GS1200 and the GSA-1200.
